Hobonichi Techo Cover / A5 / Alettone: Sweets
A lightweight A5 cover in soft, flexible PVC, covered in a playful print of sweets — melon cream soda, donuts, cupcakes and more. Part of Hobonichi's Alettone series, named for the aileron flap on an airplane wing, because the cover's flap folds over just as neatly.
A big clear pocket on the front shows off postcards or stickers and holds sticky notes or a ruler. A mint green textured fabric flap and a snap fastener keep it closed, and a small message is foil-stamped in silver.
- Clear front pocket, ticket/postcard pocket inside, and a large pocket on the back
- Pen hook that holds a pen by its clip; inner flap doubles as a bookmark
- Snap closure
- Material: PVC exterior and interior
- Size (open): 8.7" x 16.7" · approx. 110 g
- Fits the Hobonichi Techo Cousin (A5), Cousin Avec and A5 Day-Free books (sold separately)
About Hobonichi Techo
Hobonichi Techo was created in 2002 by Shigesato Itoi — the influential Japanese copywriter, creative director, and writer of the Nintendo/EarthBound “Mother” game series — as an extension of his long-running web magazine Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun (“Almost Daily Itoi News”), which has published online since 1998. It is produced in Japan by Hobonichi Co., Ltd.
The planner is built around ultra-thin, famously smooth Tomoe River paper, prized by fountain pen users worldwide for its ink-friendliness and near-zero bleed-through. Each year Hobonichi releases a new lineup of cover designs and collaborations with Japanese and international artists, designers, and brands — a roster that has grown into one of the most anticipated and collected release calendars in stationery. Designs regularly sell out within days of launch.
