Hobonichi Techo Cover / A5 / Letter
An envelope-style A5 cover called Letter, designed around the idea of your techo as a letter to yourself. A triangular flap folds down and closes with a string wound around a round button — a small, satisfying ritual each time you open it.
The cover pairs a smoky gray polyurethane with a textured acrylic fabric made in Spain. The button and string ends are genuine leather, and the deep khaki string can be wrapped simply or crossed.
- Button-and-string closure attached to the cover
- Pen hook that holds a pen by its clip while keeping a clean silhouette
- Material: PU and acrylic exterior; PU, acrylic and polyester interior; cow leather parts
- Size (open): 9.1" x 17.3" · approx. 127 g
- Fits the Hobonichi Techo Cousin (A5), Cousin Avec and A5 Day-Free books (sold separately)
About Hobonichi Techo
Hobonichi Techo was created in 2002 by Shigesato Itoi — the influential Japanese copywriter, creative director, and writer of the Nintendo/EarthBound “Mother” game series — as an extension of his long-running web magazine Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun (“Almost Daily Itoi News”), which has published online since 1998. It is produced in Japan by Hobonichi Co., Ltd.
The planner is built around ultra-thin, famously smooth Tomoe River paper, prized by fountain pen users worldwide for its ink-friendliness and near-zero bleed-through. Each year Hobonichi releases a new lineup of cover designs and collaborations with Japanese and international artists, designers, and brands — a roster that has grown into one of the most anticipated and collected release calendars in stationery. Designs regularly sell out within days of launch.
